Diana in a green dress

Aloha!

I’m Diana, your business & lifestyle design consultant.

I founded MDA to help the average person win at the capitalist system we’ve been handed. I want to provide education and help you launch your business, minimize your taxes, and create wealth for you and your family. Coming from a family of poor immigrants and having no network, against all odds, I managed to create my ideal life and would love to help you do the same.

I’ve spent my years pursuing all sorts of goals in education, finance, relationships, hobbies, and more. My north star has always been to continue learning, growing, and improving myself, my life, and the lives of those around me.

I’d love to help you recognize, validate, plan for, and achieve your own dreams - however wild or crazy you might initially think that they are. The space that we will create together will be safe, inviting, and invigorating so you can dream big and explore your ideas of what this life has to offer.

I have overcome much hardship throughout my life and now enjoy loving relationships, financial security, and overall wellness that I never thought possible. I would love to help you find the same.

Welcome! I am humbled and grateful to be a part of your journey.

About Me

Professional Background

I started my professional life as many young people do, working an assortment of retail and other odd jobs - everything from a local farm, dry cleaner, newspaper delivery, and retail mall stores. Those experiences taught me about hard work, resilience, and instilled a dedication to lifelong learning.

While attending school, I worked as an medical office manager and insurance billing specialist. I learned about the healthcare system, insurance, referrals, and billing while relieving patients of the headaches and stress that can accompany seeking treatment.

I obtained my Bachelor of Materials Science & Engineering and pursued technical positions post college. I’ve worked on manufacturing floors focused on implantable medical devices and consumer electronics. I programmed automated equipment, identified bottlenecks and their appropriate solutions, and managed production teams. I also honed my auditing skills while managing multiple global supply chains for medical devices, consumer electronics, and bio-pharmaceuticals. Eventually, I went back to school and got my Master of Science in Biomedical Regulatory Affairs to help round out my background in compliance research and policy development.

The learning bug struck once more and I gained new knowledge, skills, and amazing colleagues while getting my executive MBA. This encouraged me to go into business for myself, and I began consulting in the industry of medical devices and pharmaceuticals but ultimately found the same dynamics that pushed me away from my jobs in this industry. With too many organizations valuing profits over people, I knew that I would not be able to uphold my personal code of ethics and be successful while working in this industry.

After much soul searching and consideration, I decided to branch out and combine some of my truest passions with my professional life. It started when I began helping friends with business planning, wealth retention, tax strategies, rebalancing portfolios, real estate, property management, healthcare management, and lifestyle design. My current offerings reflect this natural culmination of knowledge, skills, and passion.

Healing Journey

My healing journey began in my early twenties when I began to suffer from fatigue, exhaustion, and overwhelming back pain. With herniated and bulging discs in my lower back, I was unable to work, sleep, or care for myself without excruciating pain. When the radiologist and doctors told me I needed spinal fusion surgery, I searched for other answers knowing that spinal fusion surgery led to reduced mobility and function and is almost guaranteed to require additional surgeries in the future.

Despite the additional out of pocket costs, I opted for traction therapy, physical manipulations, physical therapy, and a personal trainer to help me strengthen the various muscles needed to support my spine. A new MRI taken a decade after my original injury shows minimal signs of spinal damage and I have been pain free for many years. This is in line with new research that shows the current billion dollar back pain industry can cause physical and psychological damage.

With some of my physical ailments treated, and recognizing the close call I had with major lifelong chronic pain and potential disability, I vowed to continue on my path to improve my physical health. I sought activities and friendships to help me stay active and motivated to keep my body moving. Getting outdoors and learning to survive in all types of conditions gave me a huge boost of self-esteem and helped me form healthy friendships with other healthy individuals.

Despite regular exercise and improving my diet in an attempt to improve my health, I suffered from major depression and anxiety. At first I attributed it to working in a stressful environment and growing up in a less than supportive home. However, after many sessions of talk therapy, I realized that the trauma and abuse that I suffered as a child, the intergeneration trauma that our family has endured, and the societal trauma from wars, familial separation, and unrealistic expectations pushed upon us was more than I could manage on my own. I found various healers based in somatic and spiritual healing modalities and despite my intense skepticism, I have found more peace, faith, and love than I ever expected was possible.

My healing journey is still continuing as I struggled with returning to full function after a long break filled with personal healing and development. With many of the complicating factors of stress and lifestyle addressed and managed, I was still struggling to return to work full time. After many failed attempts to secure a diagnosis from other providers, I found support from a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner who was able to provide a diagnosis and tools to help me manage my adult diagnosis of ASD and ADHD. With the proper support, the improvement to my quality of life has been immeasurable. I am grateful every day for the new life I have built for myself through my never-ending quest for self-improvement and self-acceptance.
